Website: https://medhealthclinic.ca/
CONTEXT
MedHealth Clinic serves patients in Edmonton with family medicine, walk-in care, children’s health, mental health, women’s and men’s health, and pharmacy services. The campaign was focused on capturing people already looking for a medical clinic, family doctor, walk-in clinic, or pharmacy near them, and turning that local search demand into calls, contact enquiries, and appointment actions.
CHALLENGE
The account had to cover several healthcare services while working with a limited local search budget. Search, Pharmacy, PMax, and branded activity were producing different types of conversion signals, so the key challenge was understanding where the strongest patient demand was coming from and making sure the budget was being used efficiently.
There was also a measurement issue: phone calls, contact forms, and appointment actions were being tracked separately, with the appointment conversion action showing a configuration issue. This made conversion quality and reporting an important part of the optimization process.
APPROACH
We worked across the full account rather than focusing on one campaign. The account was structured around clinic, pharmacy, and service-level intent, with dedicated ad groups for areas such as walk-in/clinic, pharmacy, and children’s health.
We reviewed search performance, keyword relevance, search terms, ad groups, bidding, budget allocation, and location performance while continuously tightening traffic quality. Conversion tracking was also reviewed across calls, contact forms, and appointment actions so optimization decisions were based on meaningful patient actions rather than clicks alone.
Budget was then shifted toward the campaigns and service areas generating stronger conversion signals, while Search and Performance Max were managed together to capture both high-intent searches and additional local demand.
RESULTS
From Aug. 24 – Sep. 22, 2026, the account recorded 1,225 clicks and 685 conversions at an average CA$1.64 cost per conversion, with a 55.92% conversion rate. The campaign mix included 385 conversions from Search Clinic & Services, 208 from Performance Max, and 92 from Pharmacy, showing that both core clinic demand and pharmacy-related searches were contributing meaningfully to the account.
KEY TAKEAWAY
The improvement came from managing the account as a local patient-acquisition system, not simply a collection of keywords. Campaign structure, service-level targeting, Search and PMax, budget allocation, and conversion tracking were all managed together to turn local healthcare demand into measurable patient actions.
